We collect dry, fresh, and frozen foods, plus cooked and pre-prepared meals, sandwiches, wraps and other “grab and go” meal solutions. Given the perishable nature of the food we collect, we keep deliveries local, so your donations go straight back to your local community groups.
We have strict food handling policies and a refrigerated van to ensure the integrity of the food throughout the supply chain. We work to match the food we collect to the needs of our recipient charities – quantity, frequency of delivery, type of food required, facilities to store, cook or distribute food.
The Food Act 2014 has provided clarity and reassurance to potential food donors who want to donate surplus food to charities. The Act contains an Immunity for food donors clause which ensures that surplus food can be donated to charitable causes in New Zealand without fear of liability.
