70,000kg of food saved from the dump by hard-working organisation
An Auckland outfit is using food which is perfectly good – but past its use-by date – to help the community.
Kiwiharvest has delivered more than 70,000kg of meals created from food bound for the tip this year – that’s more than 200,000 individual meals.

They usually donate their meals to food banks, but from time to time help out with other projects like donating the food to cooking schools.
