Donate food
WE NEED MORE FOOD!
DONATE TODAY!!
We collect dry, fresh, and frozen foods, plus cooked and pre-prepared meals, sandwiches, wraps and other “grab and go” meal solutions.
Given the perishable nature of the food we collect, we keep deliveries local, so your donations go straight back to your local community groups.
We do not collect previously served, left-over function meals or food that is not fit for eating by our needy whanau and people.

Growers and farmers
KiwiHarvest gladly accepts donated fruit and vegetables, and distributes them to communities in need around the country. New Zealand farmers and growers work hard to produce the food we eat – and we want to make sure that hard work never goes to waste!
FOOD sector
We welcome donations from food manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers with surplus or unsaleable stock (that’s still good enough to eat). We can safely store and distribute dry, ambient, perishable, chilled and frozen foods.

Cafés and restaurants
Donated sandwiches and muffins are great for our many kindergarten and school recipients, and excess restaurant ingredients are the perfect addition to food parcels for individuals (especially if they come with a recipe!).
Wider hospitality industry
We regularly receive food donations from events and accommodation providers (i.e. hotels) – including in the form of individually packed meals, which are great for freezing down or supplying to people who are unable to prepare their own.
NB: Please note, we’re unable to accept food that has already been served or placed out as part of a buffet.
Households, friends and colleagues
Our branches are always delighted to accept smaller donations – whether they are canned or frozen goods from an office food drive, or a bag full of goodness from the fruit tree in your backyard.

Our Promise
We have strict food handling policies and a refrigerated van to ensure the integrity of the food throughout the supply chain. We work to match the food we collect to the needs of our recipient charities – quantity, frequency of delivery, type of food required, facilities to store, cook or distribute food.
The Food Act 2014 has provided clarity and reassurance to potential food donors who want to donate surplus food to charities. The Act contains an Immunity for food donors clause which ensures that surplus food can be donated to charitable causes in New Zealand without fear of liability.
