Ministry of Health Annual Health survey

Last year we saw the number of children living in households where food ran out sometimes or often, increase from 14% to 21%, this year the figure is truly shocking.

27% of children live in food insecure households, that’s 1 in every 4 Kiwi kids.  And we know that it is not just health that is affected by food insecurity, the educational outcomes of these children are severely affected. We have a big job in front of us to address this need.

The Ministry has released their Annual Health Survey.
